invest.miguel.2The South American continent houses large cities at the height of their development. But it is also home to a large part of the most dangerous districts in the world. The professor of the School of Psychology at IE University, Dr. Miguel Angel Gandarillas, coordinator of the European project “Security in Diversity”, has finalised a visit to the sites with the highest ratio of murders and violence. As a general  conclusion, he has encountered a number of practices which are of great value for their creativity and innovation and which are bringing about a significant increase in the effectiveness of reducing crime and offences.

The project “Security in Diversity”, coordinated by the IE University, studies good innovative practices at an internacional level and analyses the feasibility of adapting new methods to the Madrid Central District using the approach of incorporating elements of social and cultural diversity in the improvement of citizen security as a strategy for social development and integration.
